Swavesey College names Alex Ursuliak the inaugural winner. Webtec is committed to working with local schools and colleges, recognising the importance of teaching STEM subjects to encourage the next generation of engineers. The ‘Webtec Award for Resilience in Technology’ is a new award introduced at local Swavesey College and Alex Ursuliak has been named as its first winner. Alex joined mid-way through Year 9 and soon excelled on the Construction & Built Environment Course. A reliable, polite and friendly team player, Alex has a keen eye for detail and produced well-made carpentry and joinery projects and his planning and design work, was also completed to a high standard, detailed and well presented. “We are delighted to sponsor this new award as we believe it is important to encourage young people to develop skills that will help in their future careers and reward talent and hard work. Congratulations to Alex and we wish him all the very best for the future”, said Sam Thompson, Webtec’s Marketing Communications Manager. In addition to this award, Webtec also actively supports other programmes including the Arkwright Scholarships, Primary Engineer® Leaders Award, the National Manufacturing Day run by Make UK and works with local schools to offer career guidance and job opportunities at career fairs and factory tours.
