Webtec, the St Ives based manufacturer of hydraulic measurement and control products recently awarded Dave and Karen Parsons, both assembly supervisors at the company, 30 year and 25 year long-service awards respectively.
Dave and Karen, who met while working at Webtec and married in 2003, have seen Webtec grow from a small manufacturing company based in Somersham and St Ives to the current 30,000 sq ft location on Nuffield Road in St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
The factory which was has been Webtec’s headquarters since 1998 also houses engineering, manufacturing, assembly, test and sales support functions for customers world-wide in conjunction with sales offices in the USA, France, Germany and China.
Martin Cuthbert, Webtec’s Managing Director, commented, “I’d like to thank Dave and Karen for their hard work and contribution to the growth and development of Webtec over three decades, as they have worked tirelessly to help us deliver quality products to our customers world-wide”.
2014 is a special year for Webtec as it is 50 years since the company was founded as a joint venture between Webster Electric and Applied Power in 1964. The original company was called Tektro-Webster and assembled hydraulic pumps and valves for the European market using parts supplied from the USA.
