The Recipe of A Successful Team

Karen and David Parsons have plenty to celebrate this month, not only is it their 16th wedding anniversary but the couple will between them have over 65 years’ of working at Webtec.

David was the first to join the company as an Hydraulic Assembler back in 1984 and Karen in 1989 as an Instrument Assembler.  Since that time the couple, who met at Webtec, have seen many changes to the industry and company and have both developed their roles and grown with Webtec and today are Assembly Department Manager and Instrumentation Department Manager respectively.

Working as a team is very much the philosophy and clearly the winning recipe for Karen and David, not only at work but also at home where they spend a lot of time together on a host of committees in their village. As Karen explained, “We enjoy and try to get involved in anything to do with our village.  David is Chairman of the Carpet Bowls Club and I am the Treasurer and we love to play pairs together. David is Vice-Chairman of the Community Hall Management Committee and I am the Secretary and David is the Chairman of the Parish Council and I am the Cilca trained Parish Clerk”.  Any spare time we have is spent in the garden.

David agreed that they have always worked well together and joked that they have saved a lot of petrol over the years, only having to use one car to and from work.  “One of the drawbacks of working together is that we never switch off and we take our work home, organising work and shipments for the next day but this is what makes us a successful team” explained David.

Congratulations to both Karen and David for all of your achievements and hard work and here’s too many more years of working together.
