Your role as CNC Apprentice is to learn how to set and operate the CNC machines in a safe and competent manner and to work as part of a team ensuring that production schedules for the Machine Shop are met. In addition, you are expected to attend college every week in order to achieve the required technical qualifications for the apprenticeship
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To learn how to set and operate the CNC lathes or mills.

To learn how to run production jobs on the CNC Machines and to carry out all inspection duties required to ensure that parts are manufactured correctly to the drawing and meet tight deadlines.

To understand our ISO9001 quality system and how that impacts on your role at Webtec.

To spend time working in other departments to broaden your skills and knowledge of what Webtec does.

To learn about Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

To learn how to use the ERP system to ensure that all paperwork is completed correctly and on time.

To make sure that any machine issues are reported to the relevant Team Supervisor or the Machine Shop Manager.

To be responsible for keeping the areas you are working in and around, clean and tidy.

To ensure that all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to and to work in a safe and competent manner.

To carry out any other duties that may be assigned by a line manager or a director.
