Growing the hydraulic engineers of the future

More than 50 years since Cambridgeshire-based hydraulic measurement and control company, Webtec was founded, and nearly three years since Webtec’s founder Roy Cuthbert’s death, Webtec hasn’t forgotten that a company is only as good as its people and, to find the next generation of Engineers, Webtec continues to sponsor Arkwright scholars each year in his name.

Martin Cuthbert, Webtec’s Managing Director, said, “Roy’s passion was for engineering and making things, while Arkwright Scholars are budding 16-18 year olds, fascinated with STEM subjects. Through sponsoring an Arkwright scholar Webtec has been privileged to introduce a new student every year to the world of hydraulics and hopefully, through their work experience in our factory, we have provided an insight into the exciting possibilities a career in manufacturing can offer. We also feel this is an excellent way to honour the legacy of our Founder, Roy Cuthbert, each year”.
