Webtec, the Cambridge (UK) based hydraulic measurement and control company and European distributor for Milwaukee Cylinder, have announced the launch of a new range of high-temperature tie-rod hydraulic cylinders designed for use in foundries, steel mills and other heavy industries requiring high power density and working at extreme temperatures.
Hydraulic cylinders are typically designed to operate in environments below 82°C (180° F). Typically, at higher temperatures seals will start to degrade and leak and the hydraulic oil itself will break down, leading to reduced lubricity and increased contamination and in-turn early mechanical failures. But, if the application requires a hotter environment, what can you do? Milwaukee Cylinder now offers its Vulcan Series of high temperature solutions. The Vulcan Series is a collection of options designed to allow a cylinder to operate at higher temperatures or in high ambient temperature environments up to 260°C (500°F). Vulcan Series options range from heat tolerant seals to water cooled bearings and water cooled cylinder jackets. The Vulcan Series is completely customizable to fit your unique needs.
