About the roles
We have two exciting opportunities to work within the Turning team of our Machine Shop – each one requiring a different level of experience.  So if you have machining experience or have trained as an machining apprentice, read on!

The roles are:
CNC Operator/Setter – salary £25k to £28k
CNC Operator/Setter/Programmer – salary £30k to £34k

The roles primarily involve:

  • Setting, operating (and programming for the programming role) lathes, to complete production jobs to tight timescales
  • Undertaking inspection duties to ensure that parts are manufactured correctly and to a high standard, by following instruction guides and drawings
  • ensuring our ERP system is up to date and associated paperwork is completed

The successful applicant for both posts will be reliable, motivated and have a strong work ethic to ensure that manufacturing to deadlines is achieved.  Effective communication skills are essential both verbally - to maintain good teamwork - as well as on paper or electronically, to keep job information up to date and accurate.

In addition, applicants for the Operator/Setter role will have at least 3 years machining experience working in a similar industry and will understand the principles of G code CNC programs.

Applicants for the Programmer post will be apprentice trained and will have experience of programming Fanuc based machines. 

Hours
The company works a five day week - Monday to Friday 39-hours - and in the Machine Shop, this is based on a 2-Shift System. 
Monday to Thursday - the early shift is from 6:00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. and the late shift is from 1.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Fridays - the early shift is from 6:00 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and the late shift is from 12.30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

These times include half an hour unpaid lunch break and 2 short coffee breaks during the day. Shifts alternate on a weekly basis.
