Webtec Unveiled as St Ives Rangers RedSox U13s Football Team Sponsors

Webtec is proud to be the new sponsors of the St Ives Rangers RedSox U13s football team. The team plays in the Hunts Youth League and prides itself as being inclusive to all, encouraging players to progress. Because of this, the team has always been seen as a feeder club to other teams but is happy to see players progress upwards and be the best that they can be. It does mean that the team is constantly introducing new players, often new to football which is not something every club does.

As Paul Humphrey, St Ives Rangers RedSox Coach explained, “Football is for all, so we welcome players who are new and are confident that we can develop any latecomers to the game. This season we have introduced seven new players, all of them already enjoying the game and perfecting their skills”.

St Ives Rangers RedSox hosts training sessions on Thursday and plays its matches on Saturday mornings. The team has moved from 9v9 to 11v11 this season which is a big step up in goal size, pitch size and positional play. With a squad of 18 players, they focus on supporting each other and staying positive. The team has suffered some big defeats in the past but have never given up as the players rally round each other and make sure heads are kept up. They are determined and resilient; two great life skills.

“Sponsoring the St Ives Rangers RedSox is a great opportunity for Webtec.  We believe in developing young people’s skills both on and off the pitch particularly in our local community.  This is a great way to engage with a local club who demonstrate values and skills that will help the players going forward”, said Sam Thompson, Webtec’s Graphics and Communications Manager.

With pre-season friendlies out of the way, the official season began on 17th September and are delighted to include Webtec as part of their supportive team and would like to welcome anyone to come watch them play or train.

Paul is looking forward to providing updates through the season on the continuing RedSox journey and would like to “thank Webtec again for your support – we’re proud of our lads and we hope we’ll do you proud!”.
