Dubai Expo 2020 is driving a surge in demand for hydraulic products

On the south-east coast of the Persian Gulf, Dubai is one of the seven Emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and is due to host the World Expo in 2020. Dubai’s World Expo 2020, is under the theme of “Connecting minds and creating the future,” and expects to attract over 25 million visitors across the six months from October 2020. The Expo is confirmed as “the” key meeting point and a global opportunity to share innovations.

In preparation, Dubai has embarked on a huge construction project for Expo 2020, where everyone is buoyant about the amount of work. For example, Dubai has planned for a 27 km extension to the longest unmanned Metro line in the world and a further 150 hotels are scheduled for the city. To plan for the expected tourism numbers, 500,000 more employees will be required during the next two years to complete this project.

These projects are already driving an increase in demand for construction machinery and associated hydraulic  components and test equipment, which has been great news for Topland General Trading LLC, a relatively new hydraulic distributor in the gulf region.
